Amirudin Shari’s media activities in July

Earlier this month, Menteri Besar of Selangor Amirudin Shari made headlines for being allegedly involved in an extra-marital affair with an assemblywoman. On July 10, Amirudin denied the allegation and labelled it slanderous and politically motivated.

About a week later, the Selangor Menteri Besar made headlines again, but this time it was pertaining to Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali’s alleged sex scandal. Amirudin was one of the 22 PKR leaders who signed a joint statement on July 18, urging their party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to fight against gutter politics and to stop making divisive statements.

On July 19, it was reported that several areas in the Klang Valley will experience temporary water supply disruption due to odour pollution at the Sungai Selangor raw water source.

The announcement was made by Air Selangor Head of Customer Relations and Communication Department Abdul Raof Ahmad.

Amirudin remain silent on the odour pollution incident until another disruption happened on July 22 due to diesel pollution at several water treatment plants in Selangor. He urged the authorities to investigate on the diesel pollution as it might have been an act of sabotage.

Nevertheless, based on the dependency graph, he did not address much on the water disruption incident.

Instead, Amirudin was busy with the alleged sex scandal surrounding Azmin. From the top issue of Amirudin videos and on Anwar’s political aide Farhash Wafa for using the word “semburit” against Azmin.

Amirudin received criticisms from netizens on social media as they were frustrated with the frequent water disruption in Selangor.

Besides, there are also netizens who criticized Amirudin for putting his attention on Azmin’s alleged sex scandal rather than on the Sungai Selangor water issue.

Will Amirudin address the water issue after receiving backlash from netizens?
