Hadi Awang has been inactive on UMNO-PAS cooperation lately

After Barisan Nasional won Semenyih by-election, MCA and MIC said that they will seek for a new political alliance. The drift after their victory is because UMNO has been using pro-Malay and pro-Islam narrative throughout their campaign for Semenyih.

Recently, UMNO also has been closer to PAS than to MCA and MIC. Yet, this is not their first collaboration. Previously, PAS also supported UMNO for Cameron Highlands by-election, leading to BN Ramli Mohd Nor’s victory.

Then, a press conference was called by UMNO and PAS to formalise their alliance. The representatives from both parties are UMNO acting president Mohamad Hasan and PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.

UMNO president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is still currently on his garden leave, but PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang is still active in the political scene. Yet, Hadi Awang is not there to officiate UMNO-PAS collaboration.

Furthermore, Hadi Awang did not gave any statement regarding UMNO-PAS alliance recently. Previously, he pledged his support for Tun Mahathir if there is a no confidence vote against the Prime Minister.

However, Takiyuddin was the first one to came out and clarify that UMNO has the support for PAS in Semenyih by-election. From influencers list, the secretary-general of PAS is active in giving out statements regarding UMNO-PAS alliance.

From not talking on UMNO-PAS alliance to not attending the formalisation press conference of the collaboration, Hadi Awang seems to be not keen on the alliance. Does he give his blessing on UMNO-PAS cooperation?
