Liyana Jasmay triggered a high response from netizens for her role in ‘Cikgu, Papa Kirim Salam’

Liyana Jasmay is a Malaysian actress, singer and entrepreneur. After some minor television roles, she made her film debut in ‘Castello’ in 2006. Since then, Liyana has starred in several breakthrough films including KAMI The Movie (2008), Papadom (2009), Pisau Cukur (2009), Niyang Rapik (2010) and Khurafat: Perjanjian Syaitan (2011).

After ‘Sahabat’ in 2013, Liyana stayed away from the television scene for the next five years. In 2018, she made her return to the small screen through an online drama by Bade Hj. Azmi titled ‘Hey! Mr Spotlight’.

Yet, Liyana remains active in the movies. She acted in a self-produced film, Bella & Jamie, which was released in January this year.

While for her Twitter activities, it is noticeable that she was more active during the first quarter of 2019 compared to the later months.

She was the most active in January with over 50 tweets published. Then, the actress used the social media platform to promote ‘Bella & Jamie’. In return, she received almost 250 retweets and mentions combined.

However, she received a higher number of feedback in March, almost hitting 1,000 retweets and mentions.

A big portion of the responses were about Liyana Jasmay’s role in a serial drama titled ‘Cikgu, Papa Kirim Salam’, which ran from March to May this year.

But the number of retweets and mentions she received on Twitter reduced in April and May, maybe because she made less tweets in those two months. After the series finished its airing in May, it is noticeable that the number of feedback in the following months slumped.

Overall, it is interesting to note that Liyana attracted more netizens’ attention for her latest television series compared to her self-produced film, Bella & Jamie.
