Mat Sabu stands with PM Mahathir

Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah Anwar may have blabbed about Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad being a “former dictator” to a Singapore media, but Defence Minister and Amanah President Mohamad Sabu stands his ground to keep supporting Tun Mahathir.

According to Mohamad, Tun Mahathir nowadays is often “too democratic” in his role of serving the country as Prime Minister for the second time.

He further added that it is unfair for people to accuse Tun Mahathir of making unilateral decisions in the Cabinet, since every Putrajaya’s decision is done collectively.

Following Nurul Izzah’s “broken heart” confession, PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said that his daughter’s disappointment was not only directed at Tun Mahathir, but also at other Pakatan Harapan leaders.

This somehow supports Mohamad’s stance that every minister in the Cabinet is responsible for the government’s actions and Tun Mahathir alone should not take the blame for their mistakes.

Mohamad spoke on the issue while attending the opening ceremony of Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace 2019 (LIMA 19) on March 26, alongside Tun Mahathir.
