Roketkini need to make posting beyond the regular working hours to gain higher traction

Roketkini.com is a mouthpiece of Democratic Action Party (DAP). The news portal usually published articles about the activities and opinions of its party members.

 

In addition, a Facebook page for Roketkini.com was created to enhance the reach of the articles published by the online portal.

 

 

For the past one-month period, its Facebook page has been active in sharing live streaming of the parliamentary session. Full and unedited version of the parliamentary session was shared, sourced from Ubah.TV, an online TV run by DAP.

 

Apart from that, news pertaining to Tanjung Piai by-election was also blasted by the Facebook page, with DAP Johor state chairman Liew Chin Tong leading the election machinery for DAP.

 

The by-election was set to be a six-cornered fight between Pakatan Harapan (PH), Barisan Nasional (BN), Gerakan, Berjasa and two independent candidates.

 

Representing PH is a candidate from Bersatu, Karmaine Sardini. Regardless, DAP was active in campaigning for the by-election as the demographic of the constituency consist of 41.64% of Chinese, behind the 56.8% Malay majority.

 

Chinese voters would be a huge factor in determining the outcome of the by-election. Plus, MCA candidate Wee Jeck Seng will be representing BN. Wee was a two-time incumbent of the parliamentary seat before he was defeated in GE-14 with the difference of only about 500 votes.

 

It will be a tense battle between DAP and MCA to sway the Chinese voters. Liew himself was defeated by then MCA deputy president Wee Ka Siong at the Ayer Hitam constituency seat with just about 300 votes.

 

 

Regardless, media intelligence identified that Roketkini’s Facebook page only upload post during working hours, earliest was at 8am and the latest will be by 8pm. Consequently, the responses the page received was higher during the period when Roketkini made its posting.

 

 

Additionally, the page was quiet during the weekend, hence the page received almost to no response on Saturday and Sunday. Nevertheless, Roketkini had good response rate whenever it made posting.

 

As a mouthpiece of DAP, Roketkini need to make postings beyond the regular working hours to improve its efficiency in campaigning for the upcoming Tanjung Piai by-election.
