Rotikaya loves Aliff Aziz followed by Beautifulnara and OhBulan

2019 was a controversial year for Singapore-born Malaysian-based singer Aliff Aziz. Aliff who gained popularity through his song ‘Sayang Sayang’ in 2007, appeared as one of the most-Googled people in Malaysia last year alongside Azmin Ali, Vanessa Angel and Seungri.

Aliff sparked his first major controversy in 2017 when he was caught in an extra-marital affair with Malaysian actress Afifah Nasir, just nine months after being married to Bella Astillah to whom he had publicly apologised to. However, apparently, the cheating did not stop there. Aliff continued to make headlines of other affairs whilst still being married to Bella.

In February 2019, Aliff was alleged to have once again cheated with newcomer, Octavia Manrose who played opposite him in ‘Dosa Itu Bukan Miliknya’. The controversy eventually led to a divorce in May after the Court granted Bella’s request to be separated from the singer. When asked on why a divorce, Bella cited differences between the two before adding “my husband always cheats on me”.

Things only got worse after the divorce. In June 2019, the 28-year-old singer made headlines for stealing S$300 (and 1,000,000 Rupiah from Indonesian celebrity Raja Yunika Perdhana Putri from a Studio M Hotel room. He was also charged for stealing a box of cigarettes and a light bulb at Starbucks cafe, Singapore Plaza around 4.45 a.m. on August 6 last year.

About three months later, in November, Aliff sparked another controversy after he was arrested by the police in Singapore for causing public disturbance while being under the influence. In fact, a video of him struggling with the police went viral on social media.

And while the new year seeks for a ‘new me’, the singer doesn’t seem to stay away from his old habits. Recently, he was caught engaging in a war of words with a man. A video recording also showed an angry Aliff walking away, before turning back and flashing himself at his opponent.

Interestingly, if we look at the ‘Media Share’ of Aliff Aziz, Rotikaya leads in providing coverage for the singer with 93 news in the past month. While Beautifulnara and OhBulan are two other popular entertainment portals in Malaysia, they rank 3rd and 7th with 74 and 35 news respectively. Within the one-year period, Rotikaya and OhBulan reflects a huge gap with a difference of 58 news. This means that whenever there is a controversy involving Aliff Aziz, Rotikaya will be the first entertainment portal to viral the news.
