Sultan Abdullah of Pahang is now eligible to be the 16th Agong

Additionally, Economic Affairs Minister Azmin Ali was also present during the proclamation ceremony. He supports Sultan Abdullah as the sixth Pahang Sultan, but did not comment on the possibility of the latter becoming the next Agong.
 
It is most likely that Sultan Abdullah will succeed Sultan Muhammad V as the next Agong. However, it is not confirmed that the Sultan is set to become the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong during the king inauguration day on January 31. The decision will be decided by the Conference of Rulers.
