Sultan Abdullah of Pahang is now eligible to be the 16th Agong
Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah sworn in as the sixth Sultan of Pahang on January 15.
Looking at Sultan Abdullah media exposure, he started to appear in the media after Sultan Muhammad V abdicated the Agong’s throne.
Then, it was reported by the media that his father, Sultan Ahmad Shah is not in a good health condition to become the next Agong. Therefore, Sultan Abdullah was sworn as the Sultan of Pahang in order to be eligible as a candidate to become the next Agong.
Thus, majority of the time, the news about Sultan Abdullah are about him becoming a Sultan. Plus, his official biodata was released through the media.
Furthermore, artist Dato Sri Siti Nurhaliza was present during the Pahang Sultan proclamation ceremony.
Besides, there is a softer news on the Sultan. It is about the Sultan favourite breakfast after prayers, which is roti canai.
Additionally, Economic Affairs Minister Azmin Ali was also present during the proclamation ceremony. He supports Sultan Abdullah as the sixth Pahang Sultan, but did not comment on the possibility of the latter becoming the next Agong.
It is most likely that Sultan Abdullah will succeed Sultan Muhammad V as the next Agong. However, it is not confirmed that the Sultan is set to become the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong during the king inauguration day on January 31. The decision will be decided by the Conference of Rulers.
