Teresa Kok reveals her youth secret – palm oil

In an effort to encourage Malaysian youth to support local businesses, Primary Industries Minister Teresa Kok claimed that consuming a spoonful of palm oil a day has made her feel younger.

The statement was made following the speech by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad during the campaign of Sayangi Sawitku” (Love MY Palm Oil), that Malaysians should take a spoonful of palm oil every day.

Kok added during an interview on the TV3 programme “Soal Rakyat – the future of palm industry”, that she learned about the benefits of palm oil after being appointed as a minister.

During the live interview on March 25, other benefits of palm oil mentioned by Kok included as a cooking ingredient and improving eyesight.

Responding to Kok’s statement, MCA deputy president Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon suggested that instead of chattering about her youth, Kok should be investing her energy in coming up with realistic plans to save Malaysia palm oil industry from dire straits.

Another remark came from Gerakan President Datuk Dr Dominic Lau who told the reporters during a press conference that Kok should be focusing on finding ways to develop the downstream sector and not promoting a spoonful of palm oil a day.

Nevertheless, is it scientifically proven that palm oil can make the consumer more youthful?
