Anwar Ibrahim is officially contesting for Port Dickson MP seat

On September 11, 2018, Datuk Danyal Balagopal Abdullah announced that he vacated his MP position in Port Dickson. In return, PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is set to contest for the parliamentary seat as his comeback to politics since 2015.

 

 

When we look into the top influencers for “Port Dickson (PRK)” topic from September 12 to September 19, it seems like Anwar Ibrahim is fighting the battle of Port Dickson without an actual opponent. He is dominating the top influencer chart with 975 statements, while the runner-up, UMNO Mohamed Nazri is openly supporting the PKR president. Besides, Nazri only gave out 294 statements which is less than 1/3 of Anwar’s statements.

 

Meanwhile, Khairy Jamaluddin and Abdul Hadi Awang representing their parties, UMNO and PAS respectively, expressing that their parties will send candidates to go against Anwar. However, the official candidates from both parties have yet to be officially announced.

 

 

On the other hand, the top persons for “Port Dickson (PRK)” topic, are mostly about the internal conflict of Anwar. Both candidates for the PKR deputy presidency, Azmin Ali and Rafizi Ramli, were mentioned. Plus, Anwar’s family members, Wan Azizah and Nurul Izzah were also named in the news from time to time.
