Waytha Moorthy was asked to resign after Adib’s unfortunate death

On November 27, the riot at Sri Maha Mariamman temple at USJ lead to the severe injury of firefighter Muhammad Adib. It was reported that he was dragged out of his vehicle and was beaten by the rioters. Tragically, Adib passed away three weeks after the incident on December 17.

Consequently, Minister in Prime Minister’s Department (National Unity and Social Well-being) Waytha Moorthy was asked to resign by various people and organizations. Notably people include Kadir Jassin and Seberang Jaya ADUN Afif Bahardin and notable organisations include PBBM Youth’s wing Armada, Gabunga Pelajar Melayu Semenanjung (GPMS) and Suara Rakyat Malaysia (SUARAM).

As we can see from the top persons list for the past one-week period, Waytha was the top person linked to Adib with 131 news in total.

In fact, the are various angle of news reported by the media on Muhammad Adib, such as receiving postthumous promotion, BSN pay off Adib’s car loan, Selangor Sultan conveyed his condolence and others. But, 131 out of 192 news reported on Adib mentioned Waytha. This means there 61 news on Adib that does not mention Waytha.

Is Waytha responsible for Adib’s death?
