Hadi Awang’s ‘hell’ remark seems to ‘successfully’ scare MIC from contesting

After the correlation between PKR, DAP and PAS broke, DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang is seen to be active in attacking the President of the islamic party.

Recently, Hadi’s call for Islamic supremacy became a controversial issue in the multi-religious nation. According to the article by Malay Mail, Hadi claimed that believers will end up in hell if led by non-Muslims.

This, triggered Kit Siang whom yet again, questioned Hadi’s claim if it would scare off MIC from contesting in the upcoming Cameron Highlands election following their delay in naming a candidate.

In recent Malay Mail report headlined ‘Will Hadi Awang’s ‘hell’ warning scare MIC away from Cameron Highlands?’, Kit Siang also accused the latter for not being fully committed in fighting off corruption as he had said that a corrupt Muslim is far better than a clean non-Muslim leading the nation.

It seems like Kit Siang’s claim sets its place in the Cameron Highlands by-election fiasco when MIC ultimately pulled out from the race which was scheduled to run on January 26.

The interesting question here, does MIC decision in withdrawing from the by-election is really due to Hadi’s warning of ‘hell’ or does it have anything to do with UMNO pressuring them to give up their seat?
