July 16 was a historic day in Malaysia’s parliament as 211 out of 222 parliamentary members agreed to amend the Federal Constitution. Whereas, the other 11 MPs were absent.

This means every MPs in the Dewan Rakyat at that time agreed to lower the nation’s minimum voting age from 21 to 18 years.
