KJ defends UMNO-PAS against “Taliban” remark

A heated debate was sparked in the Dewan Rakyat after Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin questioned Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng on the Cost of Living Aid (BSH). When Khairy asked his question, he briefly mocked the Deputy Speaker Nga Kor Ming, calling him a “Taliban”.

Previously, Nga said that the alliance between UMNO and PAS would turn Malaysia into a “Taliban state”.

Nga immediately demanded that Khairy retract his statement, which he did, though ostensibly.

One might expect Malaysians to criticise Khairy, but instead he was backed by many netizens.

However, there is still a group of netizens urging a disciplinary action against Khairy.

Nevertheless, Khairy is still defending his party’s alliance with PAS, saying that the governance under Ummah Unity Government will never turn Malaysia into a “Taliban state”.
