MCA declares support for Anwar Ibrahim

MCA has declared its support for PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on his stance that national economic agenda must be needs-based instead of race-based.

Vice President Senator Dato’ Sri Ti Lian Ker is asking DAP to pick a side between Anwar and Azmin, and he stated that MCA is clearly backing Anwar’s plans for the government.

Recently, Anwar took it to Dewan Rakyat to recommend ways to eradicate poverty in Malaysia, before tweeting about it along with the infographic on March 24.

Although Anwar has stated that his tweet regarding the matter was not aimed at Azmin, who is also the Deputy President of PKR, the spotlight has once again been directed towards the two rival factions in PKR as it is well-known that Azmin and Anwar-backed Vice-President Rafizi Ramli are at “war” with each other.

Anwar’s economic agenda is contrasting with Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali’s Malay and bumiputra agenda for Pakatan Harapan government.

His recommendations include the change in Malay agenda to people agenda for the county to generate equal opportunities for all races.

Since MCA remained as a component party of Barisan Nasional, does that mean BN is getting closer to Anwar too?
