Netizens react to cinema ban in Kelantan

Since it was decided in Parliament that Kelantan will be cinema-free, netizens from different sides of the country have a lot of opinions on the matter.

Let’s divide them into a few groups; positive Kelantanese versus negative non-Kelantanese, positive Kelantanese and non-Kelantanese versus negative non-Kelantanese, and positive Kelantanese versus negative Kelantanese.

The first group is between the Kelantanese people who agree with the cinema ban and the netizens from other states who disagree.

The second group is between the Kelantanese and non-Kelantanese people against the people from other states who disagree.

The third group is among the Kelantanese themselves, who are divided into two groups: positive and negative.

While the majority of Kelantanese insisted that they are fine with the state government’s decision to ban cinemas, the people from neighbouring Terengganu tell a different side of the story.

Do the Kelantanese really have no qualms with the cinema ban? Or are they just defending their beloved state (which has constantly been a subject of stigma) from more criticism?
