Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has been included on Time Magazine’s list of 100 most influential people, alongside other world leaders such as New Zealand’s Jacinda Adern, Pakistan’s Imran Khan, and America’s Donald Trump.
Dr Mahathir, 93, was chosen by Clare Rewcastle-Brown, the founder and editor of Sarawak Report. She is also the one who did the exposé on 1MDB scandals, which involves former Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Najib Abdul Razak.
Describing Dr Mahathir as “formidable old warhorse”, Rewcastle-Brown also cited the Mahathir-led Pakatan Harapan victory in the 14th general election (GE-14) in May last year after coming out of his retirement to help topple down Najib Razak from power.
Other categories listed on Time’s 100 influential people are pioneers, artists, icons, and titans.
