Nurul Izzah, Rafizi Ramli and Khairy Jamaluddin lunch gathering at Bangsar on December 18 gained the media attention. However, it was not their first meet-up. They had their first rendezvous roughly a week earlier on December 10, but there wasn’t much buzz about it in the media.

Khairy involvement in their meet-up raise eyebrows. Previously, he insulted Nurul’s father Anwar Ibrahim calling him out for “main belakang”.

Days after their first meet-up, UMNO faced its Sabah exodus. Then, Rafizi sent an open letter to Khairy through Twitter, giving him words of encouragement and hoping that he will remain in UMNO. In return, Khairy playfully replied to Rafizi, saying that the latter is making a drama. Yet, he said that next time Rafizi should whisper to him during lunch instead, referring to the lunch that they had together.

On December 17, Nurul resigned as PKR vice-president and Penang PKR chief. On the next day, the second lunch among the trio took place.

Both Rafizi and Khairy voluntarily shared their meet-up in the social media. It seems like they don’t plan to hide their “secret” gatherings. They received criticisms for dining with their “enemy”, particularly Nurul for having the guts to dine with someone who once insulted her father. Question is why do they want the attention?
