Charges on Rosmah add up to 20
Media exposure of Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor went high on April 10 with two highlights: the third charge of graft (the 20th charge in total) and the pink diamond scandal.
The third graft charge is on the alleged RM5 million bribe received by Rosmah from Jepak Holdings managing director Saidi Abang Samsudin through her aide, Datuk Rizal Mansor on December 20, 2016.
The RM5 million is believed to be an inducement for helping Jepak Holdings to obtain a project known as “Project Bersepadu Sistem Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Hibrid” and the genset, diesel maintenance and operation for 369 rural schools in Sarawak worth RM1.25 billion through direct negotiations with the Education Ministry.
Nevertheless, Rosmah has pleaded not guilty. In addition, the wife of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has been cleared from the allegation of purchasing a pink diamond necklace.
