From April 9 to April 11, the media coverage of Osman’s exit as chief minister reached an all-time high.

Other than the announcement on April 9, the “war” between Dr Mahathir and Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim also made headlines in relation to Osman Sapian’s resignation.

Within the past month, Dr Mahathir played the biggest role in Osman’s media narrative with 1,115 statements, while Osman himself only made 529 statements.

On April 10, when Osman’s media exposure was at the peak, he told Bernama that an explanation regarding his resignation would be made on Saturday (April 13).

The next day (April 11), Pagoh MP and former Menteri Besar of Johor Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, the third influencer, made a statement that the candidates for the next Johor MB would be presented to the Johor ruler Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar after he accepted Osman’s resignation.

Rumors have been spreading around that Osman’s resignation was prompted by Johor Palace’s dissatisfaction in the way he handled the chemical pollution at Pasir Gudang in early March.

Will Osman’s explanation this Saturday confirm the rumors?
