Malaysian Digest’s last coverage was dated 27 July 2018

On the seventh day of former Prime Minister Najib Razak’s   SRC trial, the 16th witness, Onn Hafiz Ghazi, revealed that he received a cheque for RM240,000 from Najib on January 30, 2015 to run an online portal known as Malaysian Digest.

 

The now-defunct portal was created to provide coverage on international and national news including politics, entertainment and sports, among others.

According to the media exposure, Malaysian Digest’s last media coverage was on the 27th of July 2018; roughly three months after GE-14. The website recorded 229,740 news in total.

The news published by Malaysian Digest on its last day were about the Sungai Kandis by-election, new judge for Najib’s trial and Tabung Harapan, which was established to aid the government in reducing national debt.

 

During the trial, Hafiz also testified that 12 staff were involved in running the website.
