Najib Razak shaped i-Sinar narration

The former prime minister of Malaysia, Najib Razak, successfully take over the narration of i-Sinar, the government initiative in helping the poor by allowing individuals to withdraw money from their EPF account 1.

Najib Razak has been proposing and pushing EPF to allow a one-off of RM10,000 withdrawal from Account 1 for Barisan National (BN)’s support for next year’s budget and had successfully taking over the narration of the policy.

There are numerous voices within the i-Sinar argument notably the former Prime Minister, Najib Razak being the top of i-Sinar influencers list with 169 statements made, overtaking EPF chief Alizakri Alias and Finance Minister Zafrul Aziz.

i-Sinar was revealed to be the main program to help people that have financial problems with its plan was to have roughly 2 million members with a total withdraw of RM14 million from their Account 1.

i-Sinar was announced on November 14th and has gained attraction on the 17th with people doubting that the number of members announced for withdrawals are not enough but was clarified when it was revealed the next day.

The initial plan that was announced during the tabling of Budget 2021 was to have 600,000 members to withdraw of RM500 per month or RM6,000 for 12 months from Account 1.

This however does not please the people since the number of members that are eligible for the i-Sinar is not equivalent to the people affected which are certainly more than that.

The clarification of i-Sinar on November 18th however made people very optimistic about the withdrawals as the amount of people increased substantially and the conditions for withdrawals are acceptable albeit confusing.
