UMNO wants Gerik back

UMNO aggressively defending Gerik seats, citing the fear of Covid-19 spread and “tradition” as reasons of expecting a none-contestant from PAS and PPBM, both are ally of UMNO in Perikatan Nasional.

Other than the top influencer spot taken over by Abdul Ghani Salleh, the top influencer over Gerik by-election is taken over by mostly UMNO representative, UMNO Perak leaders and UMNO president, Zahid Hamidi have been voicing constantly about the Gerik By-Election within 16-29 November.

Saarani Mohamad have a strong voice within the topic being 2nd in the influencers list with 184 statement.

Ahmad Zahid and Ahmad Faizal Azumu, Perak Chief Minister, is on the 4th and 5th spot respectively shows that UMNO have a strong voice in the topic.

The news on PRK Gerik has reached its peak on November 27 when the announcement of the simultaneous by-election to happen on 16 January next year.

In response, UMNO has actively narrating the direction of Gerik by-election. They expect other parties, especially PAS and PPBM to give way in the by-election.

One of the reason cite by UMNO was the spread of Covid-19 and to comply with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) proposed by MOH.

Datuk Saarani Mohamad, UMNO Perak chairman, also states that Gerik is UMNO’s by right of tradition.
