Education Minister Mahdzir Khalid had a clash with Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah over government food programme in schools. The latter claimed that the food provided from the programme are lacking of nutrition.
The programme catered for children from poor families. But in general, majority of the children in Malaysia did not consume the sufficient amount of nutrition. For school children, they are lacking of calcium and vitamin C. Therefore, lacking of nutrition is a concern not limiting to the children who received food aid from the government.
