National Recovery Plan, Positive Media Coverage

Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin have recently announced a National Recovery Plan and the media sentiments on the plan have been overwhelmingly positive.

The plan was revealed on June 13 and was unveiled two days later with both dates receiving positive news title sentiments from the media.

The recovery plan covers four phases and transitions of the Movement Control Order (MCO) in several stages.

The first phase started with the total lockdown, implemented when the number of cases spiked causing the public health system to be in a critical level, while the second phase will be implemented after the daily cases drop to below 4,000.

The main narration of the National Recovery Plan is the reconvening of the Parliament that will happen in September.

As seen within the Emergency issues during June 14 to 16, the National Recovery Plan is also among the issues within the topic.

This has caused the opposition and UMNO to refuse the proposition and wanted the parliament to assemble as soon as possible or after the Emergency proclamation ends.

Following the decision to set the date for Parliament to be reconvened in September, UMNO president, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was among those who rejected the proposition. Thus, landing him a spot within the influencers list of the topic.

Nonetheless, the narration of the topic is still being controlled by the Perikatan Nasional Ministers.
