Azmin seconded Mahathir’s presentation on RMK-11 midterm review

The Eleventh Malaysia Plan (RMK-11) is a five-year development plan towards realizing the goal of Wawasan 2020. The plan was administrated in 2016, under Najib Razak’s leadership.

With Najib stepping down and Mahathir stepping up again, there will be changes in RMK-11 as the latter had promised to change the plan prior to GE-14. On October 18, the Prime Minister read out RMK-11 mid-term review in the Dewan Rakyat, which lasted for about an hour.

Based on the influencer of the topic “RMK-11” for the duration of October 18 to October 23, the Prime Minister is dominating with 777 statements. The second on the list is Azmin Ali with 271 statements. The Minister of Economic Affairs second the motion of Tun Mahathir during the Dewan Rakyat proceeding.

Where else, the Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng only gave out 60 statements regarding the topic. Even Sabah Chief Minister Shafie Apdal gave more statements compared to Lim at 72 statements. Nevertheless, both are in support of Mahathir.

For the opposition side, Najib is the one who are the most active in talking about RMK-11 with 260 statements. UMNO president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was too busy with his own arrest, while Khairy Jamaluddin is nowhere to be seen.

Within Pakatan Harapan, not much of politicians talked about RMK-11. On the opposition side, not much of politicians attacked it. Due to that, RMK-11 popularity quickly died down on the media.
