The matter came to Tan’s attention during a meeting with state party chairman Liew Chin Tong on Monday (April 15). Although it has been discussed, the final decision is yet to be announced by Menteri Besar Dr Sahruddin Jamal.

Among reasons cited for Tan’s possible resignation is the disagreement he had with Johor ruler Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar over the live telecast of state legislative assembly in 2017 when he was Mengkibol assemblyman.

As of today, Tan still chairs the Local Government and Science and Technology Council.

Other than Tan, Bersatu Mazlan Bujang and former MB Datuk Osman Sapian were also speculated to be axed from the new Johor State Executive Council line-up.

The three names said to be the replacements are Mohd Solihan Badri (Bersatu-Tenang), Che Zakaria Mohd Salleh (Bersatu-Permas) and Andrew Chen Kah Eng (DAP-Stulang).
