Bung Moktar and Wife Dominates Felcra’s News

The graft trial of Bung Moktar Radin and his wife, Zizie Izette binti Abdul Samad overshadow all coverage on Felcra recently.

As seen in the timeline of Felcra’s news headlines from 11th to 12th January 2021, news reports on Bung Moktar and his wife’s corruption trial overshadows other issues linked to Felcra.

However, there were more news coverage on the following day of the trial as the media focused more on the corruption trial which got postponed due to the MCO 2.0.

The first session concluded with the witness stating that the transfer letter of a RM150 million investment by Felcra in Public Mutual’s unit trust was approved by Felcra’s then general finance manager and a board member.

On a side note, this is not the first time Bung Moktar was on trial with his wife as they have previously been charged with three bribery cases on 2019.

They pleaded not guilty for the three charges made and was allowed a bail of RM100,000 each but had to surrender their passports to the court until the case was disposed.

Despite the media’s focus on Bung Moktar and his wife’s corruption case, they were both at the bottom of the influencers list on the Felcra topic, while the trial’s witness, Esah Abas topped the list.

This shows that both Bung Moktar and his wife does not control Felcra’s narration or their corruption cases’ narrative.
