Sungai Besar UMNO Division Chief Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos was arrested for carrying a gun in a disorderly manner on May 22. A picture of him possessing a handgun led to a report being made to the police on May 12. Besides, he was notorious for his aggressive act such as breaking beer bottles in public. It is still under investigation on whether he possess the firearm legally or not. Nevertheless, it is still unsafe for a man prone to violence to own a firearm.
This brings in the question on how many Malaysians do legally own firearms in Malaysia? Do we have a large number of gun victims in our country?
