Zahid Hamidi’s dilemma to support Muhyiddin Yassin

UMNO president Zahid Hamidi’s media exposure have been dimmed down recently in the month of budget, when other MP have been furiously debating the issues in the parliament.

After losing Sabah, which used to be UMNO’s stronghold, Zahid Hamidi was urged by its members to determine the direction of the party. However, the UMNO president who tainted with corruption cases, have been quiet on his plans for his party, emphasizing that the direction of UMNO is not up for discretion until further discussions.

Although he claimed to show full support for Muhyiddin Yassin, there were rumors surfaced in September about he and Najib Razak supporting Anwar Ibrahim’s plan to top topple Muhyiddin’s reign by a simple majority move, despite the later claimed that the letter is fake.

On budget, his share of voice is relatively dimmed compare with other UMNO leaders., despite he has voiced out that he is against budget 2021.

On top of that, he has also suggested a motion of no confidence against the Prime Minister, Muhyiddin Yassin.

These different opinions made known to public triggers confusion among the people on UMNO’s stance, whether they support the current government.
