Newspaper circulation trend in Malaysia

Due to the existence of Internet, people have the option to go online to read news. Plus, there are also news portals like Malaysikini, Free Malaysia Today and Malaysian Insight who gave an alternative perspective on politics. Therefore, the mainstream media also have gone online to be competitive and remain relevant.

The physical newspapers will not disappear overnight as there are still people, especially the elders willl prefer the hard copy as they are not technologically savvy. Nevertheless, newspaper circulation in Malaysia did have a significant drop over the past few years, only the English language newspaper managed to recuperate.
