The media link on UMNO and PPBM increase after exodus

In the media, the relation of UMNO and PPBM started to increase after the previous UMNO exodus which include Mustapa Mohamed and Anifah Aman. However, news coverage on the topic “UMNO-Warisan” only started to increase after UMNO Sabah exodus. Nevertheless, the amount of news relating “UMNO and PKR” and “UMNO and PAS” are still high.

When we look at the top issues of “UMNO-PKR” for the past one month, we can see Anwar Ibrahim and Wan Azizah said that PKR will not accept ex-UMNO members. Plus, there is also analysis on Tun Mahathir is consolidating power for PPBM to fight against PKR since contributed 48 MP seats in GE-14, while PPBM only won 12 MP seats. Interestingly, the media linked Nurul Izzah stepping down from her positions in PKR to UMNO exodus.

PAS collaborated with UMNO for the past few by-elections and conducted the anti-ICERD rally. After the recent UMNO exodus, PAS said that the party open its door for ex-UMNO members. However, the top issues on “UMNO-PAS”, most of it are analysis and opinion piece stating that PAS will be losing in the UMNO exodus. First, the ex-UMNO members will join PPBM rather than PAS. Next, the recent statement made by PAS asking UMNO to shut down and join PAS instead may have insulted UMNO.
